How Rebuilding Our Startup With Intentionality Transformed Our Content Strategy

The journey of Capsho has been filled with enthusiasm, missteps, overwhelm, and lessons learned. As founders, we launched Capsho back in July 2022, before AI became such a hype. Our initial focus was serving podcasters by helping them easily create show notes. However, we quickly wanted to expand beyond publishing support into the world of content marketing. 


In our enthusiasm, we tried helping people simply amplify their content without considering the noise it would create. We essentially provided too many options, which soon overwhelmed users. Most importantly, we lost sight of our end goal - to help entrepreneurs use their content to get clients. 


This led us to pause and re-evaluate who we were serving and what we were helping them achieve. We committed to focusing specifically on assisting coaches, consultants and service providers to win the content game. That is, to strategically use content with the goal of making money and getting clients. 


We realized our platform at the time was not optimized for that purpose. So we made the decision to rebuild Capsho with intention.


We recently soft-launched our rebuilt platform, Capsho Next Gen, which incorporates a focused 4-post social media strategy. Instead of vanity metrics, this gets real engagement and conversations. We initially focused only on social media titles, descriptions and images rather than overwhelming users with everything at once.


Sharing the lessons we’ve learned is meant to help fellow entrepreneurs on their own journeys. Soft launching first allows us to gather additional feedback to inform Capsho's ongoing development before a full launch. We’re excited to continue improving as we host a big hard launch party soon!


The key is creating content designed to produce a desired outcome, whether that’s email subscribers, clients, or something else. We’re still on that journey ourselves, but rebuilding Capsho with this purpose in mind has us more thrilled than ever to help our community win the content game.
