The Honey Trap Method
Created by Deirdre Tshien
The Honey Trap Method is a complete client-to-conversion system that turns your one piece of weekly, bi-weekly or monthly content into a lead generation engine.
It starts with your Content Event (1) which leads your Audience to your Bridge Funnel (2).
You use Push Content (3) to get qualified leads to your Content Event and use Pull Content (4) to keep your Content Event and Bridge Funnel top of mind for your audience.
Finally, you package it all up into potent Evergreen Content (5) that keeps you getting discovered and sending qualified leads to your Bridge Funnel.
Simple right?! 😉
Don’t worry, this blog post will break down the Why, What and How of each part of the Honey Trap Method so that you can implement it to get more leads from your content!
But first, an Overview of the Honey Trap Method
Ready to break it all down? Here’s Part 1 of the Honey Trap Method: Your Content Event
This is the starting point because the Honey Trap Method is a Content-to-Conversion strategy that helps you get more leads using the power of content marketing.
Content Event
[con-tent ee-vent] | noun
The regular drop of educational content you are creating for your audience - whether that is publishing a weekly podcast episode or YouTube video or going live in your Facebook group or private community.
Without regular content creation that adds serious value to our audience, we cannot have effective content marketing that turns this audience into leads. So having a regular Content Event is critical.
Not Livestreaming yet? You’re missing out! Learn more about my UnLive Method that gives you the reach and visibility benefits of Livestreams without the pressure of being live the whole time!
Part 2 of The Honey Trap Method: Your Bridge Funnel
Creating content regularly is for building credibility and trust but it is only the first step.
Once we have this trust we need to actively nurture our audience consuming our content into leads.
Bridge Funnel
[bree-idj fun-uhl] | noun
The enticing place you send your audience to become leads whether that is by opting in for your emails OR engaging in a meaningful conversation with you in the DMs of any social media platform.
So which Bridge Funnel is best?
The short answer? It depends.
Through my many years of tinkering with every imaginable type of Bridge Funnel, from Checklists, Webinars to Challenges to Virtual Summits and more, I have realized the success of your Bridge Funnel depends on:
The resources you have and
The Buyer Stage (Symptom-aware, Problem-aware and Solution-aware) your audience is in
This is what led me to create my Bridge Funnel Matrix that maps out every major type of Bridge Funnel:

Part 3 of The Honey Trap Method: Push Content
Once you have confirmed your Content Event and Bridge Funnel, we need to activate our audience to see who is most interested i.e. who our most qualified leads are.
This is where Push Content comes in.
Push Content
[pu-shh con-tent] | noun
Content designed to get your ideal customer / client to raise their hands and self-identify as a lead so that you can have a qualified conversation with them to nurture them into a sale
There are lots of ways to do this, but I have tested and tweaked my approach into my Say Me Strategy.
The crux of this strategy is to promote a lead magnet - what I call your Push Lead Magnet - which addresses a specific pain point that is important to your audience.
You will do this through:
3 simple social media posts - The Say Me Post, The Why Post and The BTS post - which will let you start DM conversations with the people who engage with them, and
2 emails that will re-engage your existing leads into meaningul conversations

Part 4 of The Honey Trap Method: Pull Content
With our Content Event, Bridge Funnel and audience activation strategy i.e. Push Content in place, we now turn our mind to our Pull Content.
Pull Content
[pool con-tent] | noun
Content that keeps you top of mind for your audience and pulls them back to your Content Event and Bridge Funnel through and awareness to action framework.
In the Honey Trap Method, Pull Content consists of:
Katie Brinkley*’s 4-Post Social Media Strategy

The Community Post which creates sense of belonging for your audience
The Action Post which helps your audience to take the next step with you
